Sorry ladies if I sound like a broken record I will keep publishing articles about the blood work that “determines” your reproductive capacity. AMH is one of the “hot” markers of “fertility”. Numerous clients have been given the critical diagnosis of low AMH and are told their chances of conceiving a child is low. They are usually told donor egg is their only option.
There is problem with this: research clear shows low AMH was not useful for the prediction of pregnancy or live birth. Yes, low AMH has a strong correlation with canceled IVF cycles. What’s important is IVF is only one way to conceive a baby. There are various options to use when IVF fails. In the next article I will describe a client’s unusual treatment process that lead to her pregnancy, even after being told she had low AMH. With the right balance in your life and a great treatment team, conception doesn’t have to be defined by AMH.
Serum antimüllerian hormone measurements with second generation assay at two distinct menstrual cycle phases for prediction of cycle cancellation, pregnancy and live birth after in vitro fertilization Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics October 2014, Volume 31, Issue 10, pp 1303-1310 Date: 12 Jul 2014 Carolina P. Conclusions Day 18–20 AMH was comparable to day 3 AMH for the prediction of cycle cancellation, clinical pregnancy, and live birth after IVF. Both AMH measurements were accurate for the prediction of cancellation but were significantly less useful for the prediction of pregnancy or live birth.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
